Alright this is interesting… I love the Lexus IS300. But, I'm not sure if they sell a manual one. How about a BMW? Like a BMW 330i? That is a cheap and nice car which you would probably like. Also there is this car this car that I love, it's a Lexus SC430. Those are really nice convertible but you will need around $20,000 for it. If you really don't like a Honda or Toyota well then too bad. You can't get a Lexus for $6,000, you need more my brother… You kind off need at least around $20,000 to buy a dependable Lexus.

    -Hope this helps

Old Lexus's can be picked up for that price. I would avoid Lexus though. They are good cars, but they are still overpriced for what you get, and even though it would be used, even after depreciation, they are still priced higher then they should be.

If you live some where warm year round, check out MGB's and MGB convertibles (Plus an aluminum 215 V8 drops straight into some years). For $6000 you can get a fairly nice one. Parts are cheap and readily available. Another option if you like Lexus (People who like Lexus always seem to have a soft spot for Beamers as well) would be a 1970-something (There is a range of years) BMW 2002 or 2002Turbo. Those are the BMW's that got BMW to status in North America, before that BMW was only for the hipsters (When BMW was unpopular/unheard of).

I always say go old school, that way you can do some of your own work on it to keep any costs down and MGB's are the best looking, cheapest, easily found cars available. New cars with all the computers and crap are impossible for your average person to do anything on. That and the old cars have lower insurance and are just as good on gas as average cars today. (The Ford Model T got 22mpg, so it really hasn't changed much, has it?). I never got into Japanese cars because I lived on a farm and the Japanese car companies were all the way in the city, no dealers in the towns near by so to get work down, covered by the dealer we had to drive too far. That and some of their trucks are uni-body, no good for towing/hauling anything.

6000? is that just the downpayment? a Lexus is generally a lot more expensive than that.

Please not the Europe thing, the cars made there are unreliable no matter how glamorous.
6000 dollars is not a bunch.
A Lexus IS 01, 02 are considered good used cars in this price range. But finding one with a stick will be difficult. Consider one with a sport automatic (5 speed auto).
The Infinity I30 might be to your liking also.
Check out the Mazda 6 with the V6. These also might not be able to be found with a stick.

Acura RSX-S (Acura is Honda though, so IDK)
    99-04 Mustang GT

    Please don't get an automatic…

Lexus is just Toyota, the Japanese try to trick you that way by switching names. I say get a BMW 330i, it handles great, and is fast.
