What do you think is a better 1st car: Hyundai or Kia?

I'm looking for a cheap, but good enough first car for myself. Hyundais and Kias seem to be in the relatively cheap category, but are they well made cars? What's your experience with them? I don't want to spend money on a car that will always break down or need to be looked at. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to list them!

    Both are crap,….But Kia's are the KING OF CRAP

    both are good and made in usa with 10 yr 100,000 mile warranty but i like the hyundai the best

    Hyundai actually owns Kia and they share basic vehicle platforms. That means that styling aside, they are essentially the same vehicle. They have both come a long way since they were introduced in the 80's. Don't be afraid of either brand. Also, you may want to look at Ford as they are also much improved and typically less expensive than the Japanese brands. Hope this helps
